Summer visit with grandkids

Got to spend a week with my Southern Nevada Crew. It was pretty hot...the coolest day was 104...But, we did a lot of fun things and I got help Stacy celebrate her birthday!
 We went to parks....

 I got to Babysit!

Went to the Rec Center in Henderson. They have a great splash pool for little kids!

 Working on blowing bubbles!
Made Stacy a quilt out of scraps of material I kept from making sun dresses for her when she was a little girl!
Logan helping mommy blow out her candles!
Daniel is holding up the Woody character from Toy Story. He loves Toy Story and knows all the Characters names.
Lenna is so cute! I could not resist this picture as she was sucking her toe!
Went swimming at the Ripplingers (Lindsay's parents). The boys had a great time, unfortunately, this is where my phone went for a swim and  I had to buy a new one!
Daniel blowing bubbles for Dad.
Free Carousel rides in the District (by the Cheesecake factory). They also do free outdoor movies on Saturday nights!

Of course we had to visit one of the many Splash Parks!

We went to the Area 51's AAA baseball game. They are one of the Blue Jay's minor teams. Their mascot is an Alien!
I tried posting a couple video's of the boys swimming, but not sure if it is going to work!

Camping at Ice House Reservoir

We made our annual camping trip to Ice House the third week of June. We have been coming up here for over 20 years. This year we had a grandchild with us, Ben, Stacy and Logan came along, and we had 2 additional jet skis. Philip's sister Sharon  and her husband Mark, Sam and Nadine, My brother Dustin, his wife Kim and their kids, Connor, Trevor and Dresi all came. We also had Allison Stubbs, Mark Myers and Christian Tolention stay the first couple of days. It was a lot of fun and perfect weather. We did our usual hike to Bassi Falls. It was beautiful. We have never seen this fall so huge. My kids are usually trying to climb it, but not this year! The water was ice cold there too.

The lake water was a lot lower than we have seen it, but it rose about 10-15 feet a day. The water there is always a little cool, but the weather was in the 80's so it wasn't so bad. We found a place to play in the snow about 5-6 miles up the road from our camp ground. Did a little sledding with some garbage bags and some air mattresses.

This was Logan's first experience camping and he did great. He loved being outside all day long. He even took some decient naps and slept all night. (He and Stacy were in the 5th wheel with us, Ben and Champ were in a tent!). They came home with us and stayed a few more days. It was fun to have them here! Just before they left, they wanted me to cut Logan's hair. They say he had a mullett, I say it is just baby hair. I didn't want to cut it, but they insisted. He looks so grown up now!

Stacy and Logan on the Kayak. He didn't like sitting down with the life jacket on!

The whole group that hiked to the falls, minus Philip (camera issues!)

Logan just couldn't stay out of the water and it was so cold. He would cry after about 30 seconds and we would take him out. Soon as he warmed up, he was right back in it!

Uncle Sam giving Logan a ride around the campground.

Dresi and Trevor playing on our beach in front of our campsites.

Sam

Logan's first experience with Snow!

There is a river a few miles from our campground that we go play in every year, but this year the water was running too fast and was too cold, so we squirted guns and threw rocks instead!

There is a dead tree stump across the river we have been throwing rocks at for the past 2 years. Not much left of it, but still enough to throw a few rocks!

Taking a break from the dirt and watching grandma fix dinner!

Logan figured out how to turn the camping light on and off!

We had meatballs for dinner one night.....Logan really liked them!

Playing in our giant sand box (aka volleyball court) and the fire hydrant.

Went to swim at Auntie Robin's and got his first ice cream!

The Mullett is gone! Now he looks so much older.
This is how we got him to sit still while I cut his hair!

Lenna's Blessing

Logan really wanted mommy to let go!

Daniel had a fun time running back and forth, splashing!
Getting a little deep for Logan.
Give them a bucket and shovel and they're happy campers!
Daniel also liked throwing rocks into the lake.
Lenna's Blessing day. Cute family picture!
Lenna looked so beautiful in her dress that I had to post two pictures!

My cute grandkids! Two out of three happy was the best we could do!
Daniel up in his tree house with his daddy.
Logan got a kick out of pushing grandpa in the wagon.
Daniel up in the top floor of his club house that Aaron is building for him.
Logan really wanted to go into the club house, but he doesn't go down stairs very safely yet, no problem getting up though!
This is in a park in Stacy and Ben's neighborhood. The last time I was here in this park you couldn't even get on the grass without Logan freaking out, so this was the first time he actually sat on the giant gecko without crying!
At the splash park in Boulder City. Logan loves playing in water.
Daniel is tall enough to reach and shoot the water guns.
 Cousins on the slide.
Lenna at the splash park, hanging out in the shade.

We got to spend a week with our Nevada Kids, celebrating Lenna's Blessing. We left cold. rainy California for sunny and warm southern Nevada. We had a great time with Aaron and Lindsay, Stacy and Ben and of course our grandchildren! We went to Lake Mead one day. It was a little too windy, so we only stayed about an hour and a half, but Daniel and Logan loved playing in the water. We also went to the splash park in Boulder City, near Aaron and Lindsay's home. The little boys had a good time and the weather was perfect! Philip got in about 3 mountain bike rides. He does the Boot Leg trails in Boulder City and some of the trails near Red Rock in Las Vegas. Sunday was a beautiful day. Lenna was beautiful in her blessing dress that Lindsay's mom made from Lindsay's wedding dress. Lenna was an angel during the blessing, so Aaron was able to say the things he wanted to say and not rush it because of a crying baby! Aaron and Lindsay treated us all to a BBQ at their house after church. We headed home on Wednesday and brought the sunny weather with us!
